WTF is a Peptide?

Okay. So. Sit down.

Not steroidsNot hormonesNot new

Your body runs on tiny instruction notes called peptides. They're texts between your cells.

"Make more collagen.""Heal that faster.""Go to sleep properly for once."

At 22, your cells had great signal. Now, some of those texts are getting left on read.

Peptide therapy is just re-sending the texts your body stopped delivering. That's it. You're not adding something foreign. You're restoring something familiar.

Insulin is a peptide.

Older than antibiotics. Older than the polio vaccine. Older than the discovery of DNA.

Your friend's grandma has been injecting a peptide since before your mother was born. Nobody made it weird.

Peptides aren't new. Your access to them is.

Your cells stopped texting each other.

Peptides just hit re-send.

Peptide vs protein

Both are made of the same stuff. The only difference is length.

Short chain = peptide
A text message. One small instruction. Everything on this page is one of these.
Insulin · Betty's. Since 1922.
Semaglutide · the famous one. A copy of a hormone your gut already makes.
BPC-157 · the healer. Copied from your stomach lining.
Aspartame · yes, the Diet Coke one. Technically a peptide.
Long chain = protein
A whole essay. Does a big structural job. Not what we're talking about here.
Collagen · the scaffolding in your skin. "Collagen peptides" in your latte are chopped-up bits of it.
Keratin · hair and nails.
Haemoglobin · carries oxygen in your blood.

The Risk Spectrum

If someone tells you peptides have zero side effects, they're selling you something. If someone tells you they'll kill you, they watched one TikTok. The truth is boring and lives in the middle.

Highest risk
Sourcing is the real risk.

Most peptides aren't pharmaceutical grade. They're synthesized in labs that range from "rigorous and audited" to "a guy in a warehouse who bought a lyophilizer off Alibaba." You can't tell the difference by looking at the vial. If your source doesn't provide a certificate of analysis, that's your sign to leave.

Fully in your control
Injection hygiene is non-negotiable.

Bacteriostatic water, fresh needles, swab the vial, wash your hands. Most "bad reactions" to peptides are bad reactions to contamination. The compound was fine. The prep wasn't.

Measure it
Hormonal effects are real.

Anything that touches growth hormone, sleep cycles, or libido is touching your endocrine system. Get bloodwork before you start and while you're running a protocol. Your body is not a subreddit. It gives you data, not opinions.

Unknown, not dangerous
Long-term data is thin.

Strong short-term safety profiles, limited long-term studies. That's not the same as "dangerous." It's the same as "we don't know yet." You're an early adopter. Own that honestly.

If something goes wrongStop. Photograph. Ask.
Redness past 48 hours, a fever, a cloudy vial, anything that makes you google at 2am: stop the protocol, photograph the site and the vial, and ask the community or your clinician before your next dose. Everyone here has had a question. Nobody will judge you for asking yours.

The Timeline

Week by week. Nobody will believe it isn't filler.

A composite of what women report on BPC-157, GHK-Cu, DSIP and CJC/Ipa at standard doses, with sleep and protein handled. Your weeks will not look exactly like this. Nobody's do.

What You Need

The compound is between you and your clinician. This is everything else.

This is what's on the counter for a four-minute injection. Not much else.
