Epithalon

AEDG peptide

Epithalon activates telomerase, the enzyme that lengthens telomeres. The protective caps on your chromosomes that shorten as you age. For years the knock was that all the data came from one lab in Russia. That changed in 2025 when Brunel University independently confirmed telomere lengthening in human cells. Still no human injection trial, so the protocol everyone uses is extrapolated from cell studies and the original Russian work. You run it in short intensive bursts (10-20 days), not daily.

Epithalon Protocol

Dose: 5mg per day, split AM/PM (2.5mg each) | Frequency: Twice daily during intensive cycles | Cycle: 10-20 day intensive cycles, 2-3 times per year. This is not a daily-driver peptide. | Route: SubQ

Reconstitution: 1mL bacteriostatic water per 10mg vial. Free reconstitution calculator.

The intensive cycling approach is important. This is designed for short bursts, not continuous use. Most protocols run 10 days on, then nothing for 4-6 months. Some people do 20-day cycles twice a year.

Telomere maintenance (anti-aging)5mg daily, split AM/PM (2.5mg each)10-20 day cycles, 2-3 times per yearThe primary use case. Epithalon switches on the enzyme (telomerase) that rebuilds your telomeres. The 2025 Brunel University study independently confirmed dose-dependent telomere extension in human cell lines. Short, intensive bursts rather than continuous use. Most protocols run 10 days on, then nothing for 4-6 months.

Frequently Asked Questions About Epithalon

What is Epithalon?

Epithalon (also spelled Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (AEDG) that activates telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length. Telomeres are the protective caps on your chromosomes that shorten with each cell division. When they get too short, cells stop dividing or die. Epithalon was developed by Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. The 2025 Brunel University study independently confirmed telomere lengthening in human cell lines.

What is the best Epithalon dosage?

5mg per day, split into 2.5mg AM and 2.5mg PM, subcutaneously. Run for 10-20 day intensive cycles, 2-3 times per year. This is not a daily-driver compound. The short burst approach is designed to activate telomerase without continuous stimulation. For a 10mg vial reconstituted with 1mL bacteriostatic water, 2.5mg is 25 units on a U-100 insulin syringe.

Does Epithalon actually lengthen telomeres?

In cell lines, yes. The 2025 Brunel University study (Al-Dulaimi et al., Biogerontology) independently confirmed dose-dependent telomere extension via hTERT upregulation and telomerase activation in human cells. This was the first independent validation outside Khavinson's original lab. No blinded human injection trial exists. The in vitro mechanism is confirmed. The in vivo human effect is not yet proven.

What are the side effects of Epithalon?

Injection-site irritation (10%), drowsiness (8%) especially from the evening dose, mild headache (5%). The side effect profile is remarkably benign for the short cycle duration. No serious adverse events reported. The drowsiness from the PM dose is related to pineal gland/melatonin activation and is considered a benefit by most users.

How do you reconstitute Epithalon?

Add 1mL of bacteriostatic water to a 10mg vial. That gives you 10mg per mL. For a 2.5mg dose, draw 25 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. For 5mg (full daily dose in one shot), draw 50 units. Swirl gently. Never shake. Refrigerate after reconstitution. Use within 3-4 weeks.

Is Epithalon the same as Epitalon?

Yes. Epithalon and Epitalon are different transliterations of the same Russian compound name. The peptide sequence is Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). Some sources also call it Epithalone. All refer to the same tetrapeptide.

Common Epithalon Stacks

Often run with: SS-31 (Elamipretide), NAD+.

Evidence

Early research. A 2025 Biogerontology study from Brunel University London independently confirmed telomere lengthening in human cell lines via hTERT and telomerase upregulation. The first independent validation outside Khavinson's original lab. No blinded human RCT exists for injected epithalon. It's on RFK's list of compounds that might get reclassified, which would make it way easier to get through compounding pharmacies.

Approval status: Not approved. Potential Category 1 reclassification pending.
